Hello Food Forward Volunteers!
We are looking forward to September kicking off our juice-filled fall and are excited to announce this month’s Fresh Juice announcing September’s picks and events. We hope that you all can make it to one! Below are the calendared events:
Please RSVP to marie@foodforward.org with the following information to reserve your spot(s):
- Date of pick requested
- Total Number of spots requested and name(s) of pickers (please include ages of children if they are under 18)
- E-mail address
- Cell phone # you can be reached at on the day of the pick.
Please note: the exact address of the pick will be given out only to confirmed pickers 48-72 hours prior to the pick.

Event: BIG Citrus Pick
Start Time: 9:00 AM
End Time: 3:00 PM
Where: Montecito
Details: Come join team Food Forward for a fun day of picking as we partner up with Backyard Bounty and the Santa Barbara Food Bank for the second year in a row at a lush private estate in Montecito just 75 minutes north of the San Fernando Valley! The FF team will bring a light lunch for all of those who join!

Start Time: 6:00 PM
End Time: 7:30 PM

Details: Join the FF crew for a fun, relaxing sunset pick!
9-18-10 – Saturday
Event: Citrus Pick
Start Time: 9:30 AM
End Time: 11:30 AM
Where: Chatsworth
Details: Come join the FF crew at a HUGE property in Chatsworth! We need lots of volunteers, so please RSVP with a friend!

Details: Come join FF as we harvest 5 Valencia orange trees in Granada Hills.
9-26-10 – Sunday
Event: Abbot Kinney Festival
Start Time: 10:00 AM
End Time: 6:00 PM
Where: Abbot Kinney Blvd. and Venice Blvd., Venice, CA

Please respect the time commitment you make:
Volunteer participation is crucial to the success of our organization. When volunteers do not show up, not only does it prevent somebody who wants to volunteer from doing so, it ultimately diminishes the amount of fruit that is harvested for the hungry. If for any reason you are not able to attend the pick that you signed up for, please contact the pick leader or Marie at marie@foodforward.org or Carl at 818-554-8696. The experience of your participation is very important to us. Please give us any ideas on how we may improve.
